Live Performances, Past and Future
In the past, you might have seen Laura on finals stage at the Women of the World Poetry Slam (2013) or the National Poetry Slam (2011). In her capacity as farmer-poet, she has also given addresses at conferences such as the NOFA-VT Winter Conference (2013) and TEDX Providence (2012). She is a regular performer at storytelling and poetry events in and around Providence. And she can almost always be found reading or hosting at the Providence Poetry Slam, every 1st and 3rd Thursday. (At AS220, 115 Empire St.)
Recent contributions include:
— A video contribution to the Chicago Wonder Show this past March… check out the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzsUiVf4s78
— Her third collaboration with The Providence Wonder Show, a multimedia storytelling event featuring projections from a 19th century Magic Lantern. The Arctic Theater Royal presented six times this year in Providence, plus a show in Boston, and one in New York. It was a time-traveling, wintry adventure, telling the story of a 1819 British naval expedition in search of the Northwest passage, and the newspaper they published during the long dark months their boat was trapped in the arctic ice.
